Every August, collectors, fossickers, friends and families gather on our property for the 'Rockfest'. This is three days of fun for all those interested in our great hobby.  Be sure to put it in your calendar for next year!  Come and visit.

There will be displays, sales and demonstrations. Camping on site or at nearby caravan parks or motels. A weekend of food, fun and friendship!

Organised by the North Queensland Miners' Association. There will be cash, metal detectors and trophies to be won and competition sections range from Under 12 through to Veterans for both men and women. There will also be metal detecting demonstrations along with panning and detecting information.

New venue for the Gem Show this year is the Ipswich Showground; see full detail with Google map under Clubs & Shows/Gem Shows. Venue for 2010 to be confirmed.

The show features trade stalls, exhibits and demonstrations of faceting, local and overseas minerals, metaphysical and healing crystals, fossils, meteorites, beads and more. Suitable for all visitors the kids can even facet a gemstone with expert guidance. Food and drinks will be available.
